Media/Press/Interview Gems from Drew Barrymore and Catherine Zeta-Jones

“People want to see you…so just be real.”

Here are a few of the media gems and on-the-job insights Catherine Zeta-Jones and Drew Barrymore have shared with me in interviews over the years about how they've survived the media without getting clobbered. It’s so right on that I included them in my book “Interview Tactics!”

In this highly competitive media-morphing landscape, getting heard above the roar of the crowd can be daunting. But, I can tell you this for sure; success in the media is about channeling your inner STAR in ANY situation, sometimes in only 10 seconds or less! Regardless of your business, you’re selling YOU and what you do.

So, how do you want the world to know you? What can you say? And, how do you say it? According to these two classy Hollywood beauties, success in the media and doing interviews and press, is about coming from that place inside yourself.

Catherine Zeta-Jones… “People want to see you and who you are for real. The exercise of the interview really is to collect a couple of things to reinforce your point of view.”

“I like to give people a slice of who I really am, because, who they see on the screen is totally different.”

Drew Barrymore…”Just be honest, the truth does set you free. It’s scary I know, but when you’re yourself it’s just so much easier.

“Don’t hide, and have fun and realize how incredibly fortunate you are.”
